# 1 of the Eight ‘Last-Days’ Judgments
In these articles, I will present the premillennial view of the eight last days judgments.
The first Judgment of the eight took place long ago . . . 2000 years ago. The other seven Judgments are all, still in the future.
<><><>1. THE JUDGMENT OF OUR SINS AT CALVARY.
This first Judgment took place 2000 years ago and has to do with our legal standing before a holy and righteous God.
Col. 2:13-15 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; 14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; 15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it. (KJV)
Col.2:13-15 describes what Jesus has done for us:
(1) “Having forgiven you all trespasses” (v. 13).
(2) “Having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us” (v. 14)
(3) “Having nailed to the cross” (v. 14)
(4) “Having disarmed principalities and powers” (v. 15).
ONLY JESUS can perform a spiritual circumcision, which is the cutting away of your sinful nature. Paul explains the internal corruption of our nature, the uncircumcised heart, which is the major problem in unbelievers. These are spiritually dead as to the life of grace (Mat.8:22; Jn.5:25; Rom.8:7; 1 Cor.2:14; 1 Tim.5:6). Before you came to Christ, you were spiritually dead because your sinful nature was not yet cut away. God makes you alive with Christ, for He forgave all our sins. . . . . . . . . . . . . http://www.hisservants.org/death_then_what_1.1.htm
Hath he quickened together with him . . . you who were strangers from any life of God (Eph.4:18), He hath now quickened or revived to a spiritual life with Him here on Earth, and after that, to eternal life in Heaven with Him (1 Cor.15:22). Spiritual Circumcision: (Deut.10:16; 30:6; Jer.4:4; 9:26; Eze.44:9; Acts 7:51; Rom.7:51; Col.2:11).
In days of old, the most common Roman way of capital punishment was crucifixion. The executioner would nail a list of crimes over the offender’s head so passers-by could see who he was and why he was being executed. Because of this, Pilate had this writing nailed to the Cross of Christ: JESUS OF NAZARETH, THE KING OF THE JEWS (John 19:19). That was the Lord’s “crime.” He had claimed to be a king, so He was considered an enemy of Caesar.
John 18:37 Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice. (KJV)
The Apostle Paul built on this imagery of a criminal’s name and list of crimes being nailed to his cross. In Paul’s powerful way, a certificate of our gratitude (itemizing all the ways we stand condemned by God’s Law) was nailed to Jesus’ Cross 2000 years ago. Jesus paid the price to satisfy OUR sin-debt, NOT His! In this way, we are forgiven of “all trespasses” (Col. 2:13, above). The Lord Jesus, in amazing love . . . willingly took our place at this Judgment and condemned Himself. It was an amazing act of love, which I cannot comprehend. . . and a profound blessing on His part! This is considered a Divine Judgment because the “last days” began 2000 years ago, when Christ Jesus came the first time (Heb. 1:2). The period of the “last days” includes everything between His First and Second Comings.
