Welcome to our website
From the beginning of the church, the Bible clearly warns us that there will be divisions (breaking away, apostasy, heresy Rom.16:17-18).
1 John 2:19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us. (KJV) John is NOT writing about TRUE believers! He is writing about those who denied Jesus came in the flesh . . . did NOT believe God came as a Man and rose again bodily after His death. These men left the fellowship of believerswho held to the apostles doctrine. Today many "denominations" just as false have arisen in the church.
What Is a Cult?
Cults are groups that break off from the conservative Bible teaching church, taking unto themselves very different views and doctrines. In other words . . . they cannot and will not tolerate the Truth of the Bible.
All through both the Old Testament and New Testament, we are warned of false prophets and false teachers and false teaching (doctrines). Below are just a few examples.
False prophets: Deuteronomy 13:1-11 If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder,
2 And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them;
3 Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the LORD your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.
4 Ye shall walk after the LORD your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him.
5 And that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death; because he hath spoken to turn you away from the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, to thrust thee out of the way which the LORD thy God commanded thee to walk in. So shalt thou put the evil away from the midst of thee.
6 If thy brother, the son of thy mother, or thy son, or thy daughter, or the wife of thy bosom, or thy friend, which is as thine own soul, entice thee secretly, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which thou hast not known, thou, nor thy fathers;
7 Namely, of the gods of the people which are round about you, nigh unto thee, or far off from thee, from the one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth;
8 Thou shalt not consent unto him, nor hearken unto him; neither shall thine eye pity him, neither shalt thou spare, neither shalt thou conceal him:
9 But thou shalt surely kill him; thine hand shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people.
10 And thou shalt stone him with stones, that he die; because he hath sought to thrust thee away from the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.
11 And all Israel shall hear, and fear, and shall do no more any such wickedness as this is among you. (KJV)
Deuteronomy 18:20-22 But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die.
21 And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the LORD hath not spoken?
22 When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him. (KJV)
Jeremiah 23:13 And I have seen folly in the prophets of Samaria; they prophesied in Baal, and caused my people Israel to err. (KJV)
Jeremiah 13:26 Therefore will I discover thy skirts upon thy face, that thy shame may appear. (KJV)
Jeremiah 13:27 I have seen thine adulteries, and thy neighings, the lewdness of thy whoredom, and thine abominations on the hills in the fields. Woe unto thee, O Jerusalem! wilt thou not be made clean? when shall it once be? (KJV)
Matthew 7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. (KJV)
False teachers: Matthew 15:9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. (KJV)
Matthew 15:14 Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch. (KJV)
Matthew 24:11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. (KJV)
Matthew 24:24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. (KJV)
2 Cor. 11:4 For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him. (KJV)
2 Cor. 11:13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. (KJV)
2 Peter 2:1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. (KJV)
1 John 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. (KJV
Jesus warned of false prophets and teachers in Mat.7:15; 24:23-24; Mark 13:6,21-22. Paul warned also in 2 Cor. 11:14; Gal.1:8-9; Col.2:8-9; 2 Thes. chap.2; 1 Tim.1:3-4; 4:1-2. By Peter in 1 Pet.5:8-9; 2 Pet.2:1-3. By John in 1 John 2:18-23. Nearly every book in the Bible mentions a warning of error and falsehood.
Cults are dangerous in two different ways. One type of cult can be dangerous to a person's soul . . . spiritually, they can hurt you. Another type of cult is dangerous to a person's physical well-being. There are two kinds of cults, Christian and non-Christian.
The Christian cult claims to have the truth of Christ and salvation but they deny one or more of the basic doctrines of the Christian faith. But, when questions are asked, the wrong answers are given. Who is Jesus? Is He the only Way of salvation? Is the Bible the final source of authority? Cults call themselves Christian BUT take C-H-R-I-S-T out of Christian . . . what do you have left? NOTHING! MOST cults teach "another Jesus" (2 Cor.11:4). Cults do not agree with the Biblical Christian faith.
The word "cult" is not in the KJV of the Bible . . . BUT the Bible does address religious errors in teaching and practice. The Bible does NOT take false teachers lightly and it does not excuse them! (Mat.18:6; Mark 9:42; Luke 17:2). The Bible uses words such as "heresy," "heretic," "false teachers," "false prophets," "false apostles, and "false Christ's". The Bible warns against heresy, false teachings, false doctrines, and false prophecy and tells us to refute, reproof, correct, and expose it by defending the Truth (Jude 3).
