# 4 of the Eight ‘Last-Days’ Judgments

<><><>4. The Judgment of Israel . . . on Earth, at the end of the Tribulation, to sift out rebels and recognize the nation’s new, Messianic status. Eze. 20:37-38 And I will cause you to pass under the rod, and I will bring you into the bond of the covenant: 38 And I will purge out from among you the rebels, and them that transgress against me: I will bring them forth out of the country where they sojourn, and they shall not enter into the land of Israel: and ye shall know that I am the LORD. (KJV) . . . Pass under the rod is a symbol of a shepherd who makes his sheep pass under his rod to count them (Lev. 27:32; Jer.33:13). Those who pass under the rod are whom God will not take vengeance on.
And I will purge out from among you the rebel . . . purge out, cull, pick out those that they may be rejected, as they deserve, or brought into the open to shame and punishment. The rebels are the rebellious sinners, who harden themselves against GOD. His severe worsening judgments shall find them in their hiding-places, and drag them out, but they shall not return to Canaan, ever again. I will bring them forth out of the country where they sojourn . . . or wherever they have been travelers and sojourners, as they now are. When the remnant of God, according to the election of His grace, shall be converted, all the rest shall be gathered together into some one place, and be destroyed as rebels.
Rom. 11:26-27 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob: 27 For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins. (KJV) . . . Some say “All Israel will be saved” means that the majority of Jews in the last generation before Christ’s Return will turn to Christ for salvation. Others say that “all Israel” means Israel as a whole will have a role in Christ’s Kingdom. Their identity as a people will not be discarded. God chose the nation of Israel, and He has never rejected it.
Paul does NOT mean that every Jew will be saved. In Ezekiel’s day only a remnant was saved; in David’s day only a remnant was saved; in Paul’s day only a remnant was saved; in today’s time only a remnant is saved and in the Great Tribulation there will be just a remnant saved.  But, ALL of the remnant will be saved. Isaiah 59:20 And the Redeemer shall come to Zion, and unto them that turn from transgression in Jacob, saith the Lord. [KJV] . . . The Lord is telling His people, “I will come to Jerusalem to defend you and to save all of you that turn from your sins.” This message is to EVERY individual in the nation Israel! They must “turn from their transgression” and TO the Redeemer (the Messiah, the Christ). It is exactly the same way we Gentiles receive salvation. There is only ONE TRUE GOD . There is NOT one God for the Jews and another for the Gentiles. We ALL have the same awesome God!
Remnant: (Isa.1:9; 10:20-22; 11:10-12,16; 46:3; Jer.23:3; 31:7; 39:9; 40:11; Eze.6:8-10; Joel 2:32; Mic.2:12; 5:3-8; Zep.2:7-9; Zec.8:6-12; Rom.9:29; 11:5; Rev.12:17).
God also chose the church, through Christ Jesus, and He will never reject it either. This does not mean, that all Jews or all church members will be saved. We can belong to a nation or an organization and never respond to Christ in faith. But just because some people have rejected Christ does not mean that God stops working with either Israel or the church. He continues to offer salvation freely to all.
