Millions Are Blind to God's Judgments

Satan blinds multitudes today concerning the judgment of God. So many of these new fangled, seeker friendly churches emphasize peace and love . . . that SO many people have a false and/or distorted view of the true nature and character of our God. Many think that God is so in love with mankind, that no matter what his/her sin and/or rebellion, that Judgment has no place in God's program. Do NOT believe this! Judgment is coming! Judgment is a vital part of the end-time events!

Consider the following Scriptures:

Psalm 7:11 God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day. (KJV)
Exodus 20:5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; (KJV)
Romans 2:9 Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile; (KJV)
1 Peter 3:12 For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil. (KJV)

Who does God judge? How does He judge? When does He judge? What does He judge? Let us consider some of these things.

GOD'S PEOPLE

Hebrews 10:30-31 For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people. 31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. (KJV) . . . THE LORD SHALL JUDGE HIS PEOPLE. The Lord is always working with those who are His TRUE children to perfect them, make them bear much fruit and conform them to the image of his glory.

Ephesians 4:11-12 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: (KJV)
Hebrews 6:1 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, (KJV)
John 15:2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. (KJV)
Romans 8:25-30 But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. 26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. 27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. 28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. 29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. 30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified. (KJV)

During the process of teaching and spiritual growth, the Lord must discipline and correct His spiritual children, just as an earthly father disciplines his earthly children. Sometimes this spiritual discipline can be very severe and grievous. But, as the scripture says: Hebrews 12:5-11 And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him: 6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. 7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? 8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons. 9 Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live? 10 For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness. 11 Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby. (KJV) . . . God's discipline and correction is simply His way of judging and whipping His children for sin and disobedience. Heb. 12:6 calls it chastening and scourging. The word "scourgeth" in Heb. 12:6 literally means "to flog, beat or whip" like criminals were scourged by the Romans during the days of Christ. It is the same word that is used for the scourging of our Lord Jesus Christ in John 19:1.

The Lord desires that we walk in the light,so we can avoid His severe, divine scourge. He has given us the Holy Spirit and His Word to teach and convict us as we travel our pilgrim's road.

John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. (KJV) Jesus' words.
Romans 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. (KJV)
Galatians 4:6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. (KJV)

The Holy Spirit convicts and puts us back on the right path when we mess up and/or fail to walk in the light. But, it is up to us to correct our mistake and/or repent of our wrongdoing. If we obey, His chastening and scourging will be much less severe than if we have 'a not paying attention' attitude. Our heavenly Father loves us and chastens us for our own good (Heb. 12:5-6) see above.

Every TRUE Christian will have his share of God's divine discipline. Those who merely profess Christ, but do not possess Christ can and often do many things and get away with it, but NEVER the TRUE children of God. "For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. If we endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons: for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not. But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers (all sons of God are partakers), then are ye bastards and not sons." (Heb. 12:6-8). God teaches, convicts and whips His children when they need it. Going to the 'woodshed' should soon teach us to obey the Lord!
Anyone who does not receive this chastening may CLAIM to be His, but they are bastards and not sons. Simply meaning, although they profess they are born of God, He is not their true father. 1 John 3:10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother. (KJV)

How do we know when the Lord is not happy with us? The Lord first speaks to our heart through His Holy Spirit, convicting our conscience with a heavy and burdensome feeling. We actually quench the Holy Spirit (1 Thes.5:19) grieving Him. Immediate humble repentance at this point will often discontinue further chastening . . . BUT . . . this depends on just how greatly you have sinned against God. We must always remember, God's judgment is always "according to truth against them which commit such things." Rom. 2:2.

No matter the consequences, God's TRUE children CANNOT afford to continue in any state of disobedience, no matter how minor you may think it is! Because to our Father in Heaven, NO sin or disobedience is minor! 1 Peter 5:5-7 Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. 6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: 7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. (KJV)
