Judgment Day

The Judgment Seat of Christ

This humble servant believes that the Judgment Seat of Christ will take place immediately after the Rapture (1 Thes.4:13-18). At this judgment, only believers will appear. It is NOT a judgment of believer's sins! Christ fully atoned for those on the cross! This judgment is to see what we did for Christ and His cause AFTER we were saved. It is to determine whether we receive rewards or lose rewards we could have had.

Romans 14:12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God. [KJV] . . . Some at the judgment Seat of Christ, some at the Great White Throne Judgment.

2 Cor. 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. [KJV]

2 Tim. 4:8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. [KJV] . . . I certainly do NOT deserve a crown! So any crown I get will be given to my Lord!

Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: [KJV] . . . NO purgatory! NO second chances! When a person dies, only judgment awaits!

1 Peter 4:5 Who shall give account to him that is ready to judge the quick and the dead. [KJV] . . . You SHALL give account to Jesus, whether you believe it or not!

1 Peter 4:7 But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer. [KJV] . . . The end of this world as we know it is near! Are you ready to meet Jesus, the Judge?

2 Peter 2:9 The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished: [KJV] . . . God's children are safe from Hell, but ALL unbelievers shall experience eternal agony. Think about this!

1 John 4:17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world. [KJV] . . . God's TRUE children have nothing to fear at the Judgment. Their destination is Heaven.

Jude 1:24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, [KJV] . . . Only Jesus can "present you faultless" before the Father.

Rev.22:12-14 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. [13] I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. [14] Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. [KJV] . . . Only Jesus gives us the right to enter Heaven! Only because of Jesus are we entitled to approach the tree of life! Only because of Jesus do we have this privilege that is NOT given to unbelievers.

It is not a right in the sense that we have earned it, but in the sense that the privilege is awarded to us as one of the rewards of God. Only because of Jesus are we entitled to this honor (John 1:12). The reason why this right or privilege is bestowed upon us is the grace of our Holy and loving God (Eph.2:8-9). The right which we have to the tree of life is founded on the fact that God has been pleased to give it to us. Salvation is a GIFT from God (Rom.6:23).

The tree of life (Rev.22:2). . . Believers are not forbidden to approach that tree as Adam was, but will always be permitted to partake of it, and will live for ever.

And may enter in through the gates into the city. The New Jerusalem (Rev.21:2) will be where believers will have their mansion, or dwelling place (John 14:2-3). We will have free access there; and be permitted to live there for ever.

John 14:2-3 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. [3] And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. (KJV) . . . Jesus Words! Your mansion is there, IF you know Jesus as your personal Saviour and Lord! God CANNOT lie! And Jesus IS God (John 10:30). In verse 3, Jesus is telling us of the Rapture! What comforting words! He has gone (YES), gone to prepare our place! Then notice: I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. Believe Him my friend! He CANNOT lie!

John 6:28-29 Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? [29] Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent. [KJV] . . . Jesus' Words. What shall we do, IF this is your earnest inquiry of how to be saved . . . Jesus gives you the answer here! This is the work of God . . . BELIEVE on Jesus, whom God the Father has sent! Please don't call God a liar! Believe what He clearly states about His Son!

1 John 5:10-12 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. [11] And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. [12] He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. (KJV) . . . God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. IF you want to go to Heaven, you MUST believe God!

There are some major cults out there, Catholicism right at the top of the list, that teach salvation by works. That is NOT what the Bible teaches. Who will you believe? God . . . OR man (Mat.15:9)?

Believing God is the only acceptable way to God. Believing God is what you MUST do in order to be saved. Jesus did not tell them to do nothing, or to sit down and wait, but that there was a WORK to perform, and that was a duty that was crucial. That WORK is to believe on the Messiah. This is the ONLY work which sinners are to do; and doing this they will be saved, for Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth (Rom.10:4).

The idea of doing something . . . to merit salvation is one of the last things that the sinner will surrender.

There will be an order in the resurrection. Christ Himself is the first-fruits. At His coming at the Rapture, His redeemed people will then be resurrected. There will be two resurrections (Dan.12:2; John 5:28-29). The righteous (those who trust and accept Christ) will be raised first. I think these will stand before the Judgment Seat of Christ. The wicked (unbelievers, those who reject Christ) will be the last ones to rise. I think these will stand before the Great White Throne Judgment. That will be the end as we know it.

Without a doubt the Bible is very clear that everybody, believer and unbeliever alike, will someday stand before Christ to be judged. But the good news for the believer is that our judgment will not be to determine if we are cast into the Lake of Fire, because that was settled once we believed the Gospel and became “children of God.”

Those that are truly saved have benefited from the great exchange in which our sins are accounted to Christ and His righteousness is imputed to us. So, while our salvation is secure in Christ we will “still give an account of ourselves to God” (Rom.14:12), and we should strive to do all things for the glory of God (1 Cor.10:31).
