Today’s Babylon . . . Babylon is a symbol of wickedness

The opposite of Zion, and its enemy is Babylon. The city of Babylon was originally the city of Babel (Gen.11:1-8), of the Tower of Babel fame, and later became the capital of the Babylonian empire. Its principal structure was the temple of Bel, or Baal, the idol, which was given over to sexual perversions that were associated with its worship. Babylon’s worldliness, its worship of evil, and the captivity of Judah there following the conquest of 587 BC, all unite to make Babylon the symbol of corrupt societies and spiritual bondage.

Revelation 18:2-3 And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. 3 For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies. (KJV)

The first announcement of Babylon’s fall was made in Rev.14:8. Here, this angel shouts: “Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen” again, as if the city had already been destroyed. Any time that God makes a statement, be sure that it will happen EXACTLY as He has said. Oh! if only more people would take God seriously! “The habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.” This city in the Book of Revelation will house evil spirits, demons and “unclean birds.” Birds is a symbol for Satan and his children (Mat.13:4.19; 1 John 3:10). What about today’s Babylon? What about America?
Not only America, but ALL nations have drunk the wine of her vulgar immorality and wickedness. My friend, the rulers of the world have committed adultery with her, and merchants throughout the world have grown rich as a result of her luxurious living.

Just as merchants in the Roman Empire grew rich by exploiting or abusing the sinful pleasures of their society, so too it is in today’s world. Many business people today do the same thing. Businesses and governments are most often than not, based on greed, money and power. They simply are tempted (and give in to the temptation) to take advantage of ANY evil way to get rich.

God’s TRUE children are continually warned in the Bible to stay away from the lure and lust of fame, money, power and the so-called ‘good’ life. We must live according to the values Christ represented: love, humility, faith, justice, self-sacrifice, service, obedience and truth. It does not take long to see that the vast majority of business people and politicians are simply out to fill their pockets at other people’s expense, including MANY false preachers. They will do anything and everything for fame, fortune and that almighty dollar and power.

In today’s Babylon, the judgment of evil beasts is more likely to be evil spirits that are released upon the land. The book of Revelation symbolizes demonic spirits as loathsome creatures (frogs, locusts) etc. The explosion of drugs in our society, in my opinion, leads to demon possession. BEWARE!
Mark 5:3-5 Who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no man could bind him, no, not with chains: 4 Because that he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been plucked asunder by him, and the fetters broken in pieces: neither could any man tame him. 5 And always, night and day, he was in the mountains, and in the tombs, crying, and cutting himself with stones. Luke 8:27-28 And when he went forth to land, there met him out of the city a certain man, which had devils long time, and ware no clothes, neither abode in any house, but in the tombs.
28 When he saw Jesus, he cried out, and fell down before him, and with a loud voice said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God most high? I beseech thee, torment me not. (KJV)
Luke 9:39 And, lo, a spirit taketh him, and he suddenly crieth out; and it teareth him that he foameth again, and bruising him hardly departeth from him. (KJV)

The senseless violence, murder and mayhem we have witnessed in recent years is part of the fourfold judgment upon America. God is allowing a new phase of demonic activity upon this country, and it is going to continue to escalate in the coming years as God continues to judge our nation. Just as God put a four-fold judgment on Israel, He can do the same today, if He so chooses. Ezekiel 5:16-17 When I shall send upon them the evil arrows of famine, which shall be for their destruction, and which I will send to destroy you: and I will increase the famine upon you, and will break your staff of bread: 17 So will I send upon you famine and evil beasts, and they shall bereave thee; and pestilence and blood shall pass through thee; and I will bring the sword upon thee. I the LORD have spoken it. (KJV)

Revelation 18:4-5 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. 5 For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities. (KJV) . . . Another voice from heaven. Just WHO is speaking? Personally, I think it is Jesus, the Lamb of God. I do not think an angel would say: “Come out of her, my people.” I think it is Christ who is calling “His people” out of Babylon before it goes down. Just as Lot was warned before Sodom and Gomorrah was destroyed, so the righteous will be warned before Babylon is destroyed. My dear friend, judgment is coming to the United States, and the world. Let us take the Lord Jesus’ advice and come out of her!
