What Does GOD Have to Say?
Rapture, Chapter 15

The imminent (will happen) and impending (about to happen) coming of Christ for His church. Our being ‘caught up’ with Jesus in the clouds.
The word ‘rapture’ is not in the Bible. But in 1 Thes.4:17 the words “caught up” are there, meaning to catch up; lift;transport; snatch up; carried away; rapture.

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. 14  For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
15  For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. 16  For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17  Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18  Wherefore comfort one another with these words
.
‘Asleep and sleep’ refers to the death of the body. The soul or the spiritdoes NOT die!

Eccles. 12:7Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.
When we die physically, our body shall return to the Earth; but NOT our spirit. It shall return unto God, who gave it to us. What HE does with it will depend on what YOU did with Christ! Did you accept Him? Or did you reject Him? God will in NO wise let you into Heaven without the right credential. That credential is God’s Son Jesus! Jesus is your ONLY ‘key’ to Heaven.

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
If you have accepted Jesus, you have the wonderful ‘hope’ of eternal life!
Titus 1:2 In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;
1 Thes. 4:14-15 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. 15  For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
The Bible (GOD) very plainly tells us that Jesus DID die. But, He arose! He was resurrected! He is alive, and sitting on the right Hand of God Almighty (Mk.16:19; Heb.10:12). Jesus promises us four times in the 6th chapter of John that He will raise us up, resurrect us bodily, the same as He was raised bodily. Here we are told again, that ‘them which sleep in Jesus’ will be raised from the dead, to go to be with God in Heaven.
Should Jesus come for His church (the TRUEchurch, NOT denominations), and we be alive; those who are ‘asleep’ (dead physically), and belong to Him, He shall call first. And He’ll not forget a one!

1 Thes.4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

The Lord Himself shall come for His own; not just the angels! And I personally believe this will be ONLY for God’s children. If you do not know Jesus; you shall NOT hear His voice. This (I think) will be a very select gathering. ALL believers shall hear His voice call their names.

1 Thes.4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
When the Lord comes at the ‘Rapture’ He will NOT come to Earth. He will call His church and we shall “meet the Lord in the air” and we shall be with Him forever!

1 Thes.4:18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
I don’t think pastors are preaching enough on the Rapture. People need to hear this doctrine so they can “comfort one another” with the thought of Jesus coming for us.

Matthew 24:36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
Who knows when the Rapture shall take place??? God tells us here in this verse “NO ONE”! There are so many cults that predict exactly when this event will happen. Do NOT pay any attention to anyone who says they are Christ; or to anyone who says they know when He will return. They are wrong!

Matthew 24:37-39 But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 38  For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, 39  And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
The people in Noah’s day were living as if God didn’t exist, much as it is today! They just went on with their lives, engrossed in sin, not caring about God. Noah tried faithfully for MANY years,  to try to turn these people to God. All they did was mock and ridicule him. How many people were saved in the ark Noah built? Only eight! So little faith then . . . and now!

Luke 18:8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?
People were NOT expecting God to react in the way in which He did. He destroyed the world’s population (except for Noah and his family). The Rapture will be in like manner (unexpected).

Matthew 24:40-42 Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. 41  Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left. 42  Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.
If we know that Christ COULD come at any time; shouldn’t we be living accordingly?

Matthew 24:43-44 But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. 44  Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.
Comparing the Coming of Jesus and that of a thief is the more striking difference between the two characters. There is only one point of comparison . . . the uncertainty of the time of their coming. As the goodman of the house, had he known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and have prevented his house from being broken into, so too we, by watching for the coming of the Son of Man, may prevent it from finding us not ready. The "goodman of the house", or householder, is every Christian, or believer in Christ, who has a house to look after, his own soul, and the spiritual details and everlasting salvation of it, things concern unto him. Just as the early Christians, before the destruction of Jerusalem, had notices of Christ's Coming in that way, by our Lord's predictions, by the hints the apostles gave, and by the signs of the times; so too the saints have of Christ's Coming to judgment. My friend, the Rapture is judgment . . . Christ judging the TRUE believers from the hypocrites and the wicked. He shall lift out the TRUE church from the evil world before the Great Tribulation starts. Just as the Jews were to watch back then, so too are we today to watch.

1 Cor.15:51-52 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52  In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
Again, Jesus is telling us to be prepared, we are to watch, for we do NOT know when He will come for us.

See our commentary in 1 Cor.15:51-52. http://www.godcannotlie.org/1_cor_ch15.htm

We are to WATCH!!! Are you ready for Jesus to come, or is there something you need to do before He comes?

Matthew 24:42 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.
Matthew 25:13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

Mark 13:33 Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.
Mark 13:35 Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning:

Mark 13:37 And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.
Mark 14:38 Watch ye and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. The spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak.
Luke 21:36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
Jesus warns us, over and over again!

John 14:2-3 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
See our commentary on John chapter 14. http://www.godcannotlie.org/john_commentary_ch14.html

Acts 1:9-11 And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a
cloud received him out of their sight. 10And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; 11Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

Jesus left in the clouds; He will return in the clouds at the Rapture!
