Judgment Day IS Coming! Are You Ready?
Jesus spoke of the Judgment Day when He was on Earth. Matthew 12:36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. (KJV) Jesus' words.
John 12:48 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. (KJV) Jesus' words . . . Jesus spoke of a coming Day of Judgment in the last days. He said that TWO kinds of words were important . . . what He said . . . and what we say! We will be judged by HIS Words and by OUR words. What does that mean to you? To me, it means that we had better pay attention to what He has said in the Holy Bible . . . AND what we say as we live this pilgrim life on Earth. Far too many of us speak far too many "idle words."
With SO many churches today refusing to preach on God's wrath and God's judgment, HOW can we be sure that there really will be a Judgment Day? I can give you the answer! God said so! His Holy Word clearly states there SHALL be a coming JUDGMENT! I believe this. That is why I teach it. I believe God! He CANNOT lie (Tit.1:2). We can be sure of a Judgment Day because Christ proved there would be a Judgment Day by His own resurrection from the dead. Acts 17:30-31 And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent: 31 Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead. (KJV)
2 Corinthians 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. (KJV) . . . We can be certain that there is a coming Judgment Day and we can be certain that everyone who has ever lived shall be there!
The climax of the Judgment Day scene is recorded by the apostle John in the Book of Revelation. Revelation 20:11-15 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. 13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. 14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. (KJV)
Consider the following FACTS:
Fact # 1: Man must give account of himself on the day of judgment. Matthew 12:36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. (KJV) Jesus' words.
Romans 14:10-12 But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. 11 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. 12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God. (KJV) . . . Judgment Seat of Christ.
Fact No. 2: Ready or not, ALL of us shall appear at the judgment. (Acts 17:31; 2 Cor.5:10)
Fact No. 3: We shall be judged by how we measure up to the Word of God. John 12:48 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. (KJV)
Fact No. 4: We had better be ready for Judgment Day. 2 Corinthians 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. (KJV) Matthew 12:36-41 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. 37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned. 38 Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Master, we would see a sign from thee. 39 But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas: 40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. 41 The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here. (KJV) Jesus' words.
Jesus is going to be the Great Judge and His Words recorded in the Bible will be the standard by which He shall judge us. It is highly important that we KNOW what His Words are. Consider the following Passage. Matthew 7:21-27 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. 24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: 25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. 26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: 27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it. (KJV) Jesus' words . . . Anyone who refuses to believe God (1 John 5:10-13), and rejects God's one and only Plan of salvation (John 3:15-18,36; 8:24; 14:6; Acts 4:12), and those who refuse do His will, shall receive this condemnation and punishment. What will you say to Jesus on Judgment Day?
