Joyce Meyer Heresies

2 Peter 2:1-3 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. (KJV)

Joyce Meyer is a very dynamic speaker and motivator . . . BUT . . . her doctrine is NOT Biblical. She does teach some good "worldly" things but she also teaches SO many things that are NOT Biblically correct. She is in with the rest of the the Word Faith, Seed Faith, Name It - Claim it crowd . . . and lives a very extravagant lifestyle. Her clothes are tailor made and she lives in a multi-million dollar home, her husband drives a $100,000 vehicle, her and their children all drive expensive vehicles, paid for by the ministry and she flies around the country in her multi-million dollar jet plane when she isn't taking time to vacation at her home in the Ozarks, also paid for by the ministry. I certainly do NOT see ANY sacrifice whatsoever on their parts. There are millions of people who need the basics in life just to live let alone have any extra. With all her extravagance, she definitely is NOT showing the true spirit of Jesus. What did Jesus have? Matthew 8:20 And Jesus saith unto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head. (KJV)

Joyce Meyer's Quotes, Teachings, Doctrines, and Beliefs Concerning Salvation

Just what are the beliefs, teachings and doctrines of Joyce Meyer concerning being "Born Again"? What does Joyce Meyer say that a person must believe to be saved? What does Joyce Meyer teach concerning Jesus on the cross, spiritual death, and salvation? Below are some quotes from Joyce Meyer teachings from one of her booklets called "The Most Important Decision You Will Ever Make.' I post this information not to be contentious or hateful, but instead to show just what Joyce Meyer teaches.

Many people listen to Joyce Meyer on the radio, television, or by reading her books. BUT . . . do they realize that her teachings are NOT in accordance with the Word of God? Yes . . . some of the things she teaches DO agree with the Bible, BUT the same can be said of the Jehovah's Witnesses, Mormons and ALL cults! The devil is SO very sly! He knows he must put in some Truth or NO one would believe his lies!

What does Joyce Meyer teach that is so bad? Is Joyce Meyer really a false teacher? Is Joyce Meyer really a "Christian"? Why should YOU be concerned? Joyce Meyer's does not spout ALL the same false teachings as those in the Faith Movement, BUT she does go along with some teachings that are the same with the many Word Faith heretics.

Always examine any information for yourself and check it out with the Bible! Is the gospel that she preaches the Gospel of Jesus Christ? Or is it the gospel according to Joyce Meyer? Is it "another gospel" that the Bible so clearly wants us against? And what about Jesus? Does she teach "another Jesus" as well? What does the Bible say? BEWARE!!!

2 Cor. 11:4 For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him. (KJV)

Galatians 1:6-7 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: 7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. (KJV)

In a book called "The Most Important Decision You Will Ever Make" Joyce Meyer teaches what it means to be born again and what Christ had to do for people to be saved. Read the following comments:

"Although your physical body will die someday, your spirit will continue to live for an eternity. Whether your spirit lives in heaven or hell depends on the choices you have made. In this book, best selling author Joyce Meyer outlines God's plan of salvation so that you can make a quality decision." (Back of the book, 1996-Edition)

"The spiritual part of you can be thought of as the part of you that cannot be seen with the natural eye. This part of you will live forever. And where the spiritual you lives depends on the decision you make as you read this book." (Page 8, 1996-Edition)

Warning, BEWARE!!! Danger Ahead!

Joyce Meyer teaches that Jesus did NOT pay for our sin upon that cross, but actually went to the torments of Hell and made atonement there. That is Word Faith garbage, just like Kenneth Copeland's teaching! The following quote is from Joyce Meyer's 1991 booklet on being born again which is worded differently in the 1996-updated edition.

"During that time He entered hell, where you and I deserved to go (legally) because of our sin...He paid the price there.…no plan was too extreme...Jesus paid on the cross and in hell….God rose up from His throne and said to demon powers tormenting the sinless Son of God, “Let Him go.” Then the resurrection power of Almighty God went through hell and filled Jesus...He was resurrected from the dead 3Ú4 the first born-again man" (The Most Important Decision You Will Ever Make: A Complete And Thorough Understanding Of What It Means To Be Born Again, 1991, pages 35-36, Joyce Meyer) This quote was found from the Christian Research Institute's article on Joyce Meyer.

In her 1996 edition of "The Most Important Decision You Will Ever Make" Joyce Meyer states the same things but with different wording.

"Believe that Jesus did what the Bible says. Believe He is indeed the Son of God, born of a virgin. He took man's sin on the cross. He did not stay dead. He was in the grave three days. During that time, He entered hell, where you and I deserved to go (legally) because of our sin." (Page 41, 1996-Edition) Notice the similar wording in this quote compared to the other quote.

Her ministry is now a multimillion-dollar organization with 500 employees with offices in Europe and South Africa. The ministry's headquarters were built a year and a half ago by for approximately $19 million. Meyer's ministry reaches out to the world, a Charisma article a number of years ago pointed out that she is on 600 radio and television stations -selling nearly three million tapes and close to a million books. Her Web site brings an average $8 million a month to her ministry. (Reference-Joyce Meyer's message: Give to me and God gives to you By Carolyn Tuft and Bill Smith St. Louis Post-Dispatch)

Meyer's house, is a 10,000-square-foot Cape Cod style estate home with a guest house and a garage that can be independently heated and cooled and can hold up to eight cars. The three-acre property has a large fountain, a gazebo, a private putting green, a pool and a pool house where the ministry recently added a $10,000 bathroom.

“I don't want to spend my whole life talking about the promised land without ever getting there. I want to live in it ”(Joyce Meyer, “What Does Your Future Hold” May 21, 2004).

She thinks it is A-OK to live an outrageously wealthy lifestyle. She is living out her example of the Word Faith prosperity message. If you listen carefully to her messages you will soon SEE that she is a follower of the Word Faith prosperity message so often spouted by greedy TV evangelists.

“I’m going to tell you something folks, I didn’t stop sinning until I finally got it through my thick head I wasn’t a sinner anymore. And the religious world thinks that’s heresy and they want to hang you for it. But the Bible says that I’m righteous and I can’t be righteous and be a sinner at the same time.”
“Now whether you like it or not, whether you want to admit it or not, whether you want to operate on it or not, you are made the righteousness of God in Jesus Christ. Most people who go to denominational churches never ever hear that! They never hear it! Never! All I was ever taught to say was, ‘I’m a poor, miserable sinner.’ I am not poor, I am not miserable and I am not a sinner. That is a lie from the pit of hell. That is what I was and if I still am then Jesus died in vain. Amen?” (Joyce Meyer, “What Happened from the Cross to The Throne?” audio)

What does the Bible say?

Romans 3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: (KJV)
Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; (KJV)
1 John 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. (KJV)

Joyce Meyer is calling God a LIAR!

NO saint ever claimed this pure spiritual condition. NOT Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; NOT Job, Moses, David, Peter, John, or Paul. NONE were absolutely perfect! They ALL were all guilty of thoughts, words or deeds of sin? NONE of them ever said they were not a sinner. Paul said that he was the chief of sinners. 1 Tim. 1:15 This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief. (KJV)

Paul continued to do what he did NOT want to do many times, just like we do! Romans 7:19-21 For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. 20 Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. 21 I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. (KJV) . . . I can feel Paul's pain as he wrote this!

In today’s TV church and in local churches . . . verse by verse Bible study is very unusual! We NEED more of this type teaching! We also NEED dome old time "Fire and Brimstone" preaching, but that is few and far between! PLEASE pay attention to what is being said in the pulpits! OPEN your Bibles and study it! Do NOT be led astray by these greedy wolves who PRETEND that they are sheep! Beware of the Word Faith garbage that teach the false prosperity promises. Listen to God! He will NOT lead you wrong!
