The Meaning of Damnable Heresy

2 Peter 2:1-3 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. (KJV)

The word "damnation" originated from the word condemnation. So . . . "damnable" means condemnable. The word "heresy" means opinion. Damnable heresy means a condemned man's opinion.

Over the centuries, the meaning of a heretic changed to that of a religious outcast who opposed true doctrine. There certainly have been no shortage of "damnable heresies" in the past 2,000 years, for all too often the heretics became so numerous, that true Christians were labeled as heretics . . . and many TRUE Christians were persecuted and martyred because of it.

It is my belief that our Almighty God is the Creator of the Universe and everything in it. It is also my belief that the Holy Bible is His inspired Word given to us to help us to live as He wants us to live. In that Book, we are given Laws which we are to obey IF we intend to ever reach His home in Heaven and live with Him eternally. Any time that man listens to God's enemy, Satan, and goes against God in ANY way with their "opinions" as to what to teach others, it is HERESY! And those who teach these heretic opinions of Satan are heretics!

2 Peter 2:1-9 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. 2 And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. 3 And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.
4 For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment; 5 And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly; 6 And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly; 7 And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked:
8 (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;) 9 The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished: (KJV)

Peter gives us three examples of apostates in the past. #1. Is the angels who sinned (v.4), and this is an exampIe of how the Satan works. #2. Is that of the world of Noah's day (v.5), and it is the example of the world. #3. Is the turning of the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes, and that is the example of the flesh (v.6). We have Satan, the world and the flesh. These are the three enemies that you and I need to be aware of. The apostle John says, "Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world..." (1 John 2:15). "The world" does NOT mean the beautiful flowers, the mountains, the trees, and the sea. It means the world system down here that is against God . . . that is what we are not to love.

Peter tells us about the devil and about the fact that God in the past has judged angels. The subject of angels and demons is highly debatable and very popular today. In fact, there is TOO much attention being given to it. Many books are being written about Satan and about demons. I do not know much about Satan and the Antichrist and I do not want to know much about them. The One I want to know is the Lord Jesus Christ.

No where does Paul or any other of the writers in Scripture say, "That I might know the Antichrist...." But Paul does say, "That I may know him [the Lord Jesus], and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings..." (Phil.3:10). It is life eternal to know God, the Father, and the Son, the Lord Jesus, whom He has sent (John 17:3), and eternal destruction in the Lake of Fire IF you do not know Him (Rev.20:15). NO where in Scripture does it instruct us to know Antichrist or to know all about Satan. We must NOT be ignorant of his devices, and we need to beware of him, BUT . . . we can pay too much attention to him and not enough about JESUS! .

I beg you to check on ALL Bible teachers and radio and TV preachers that you listen to. Please, check me out! Am I teaching the Word of God? Check me out with the Word of God and see if I am or not. And check yourself. Every child of God should examine himself to see whether or not he is in the faith.

One of the marks of a false teacher is that he is a promoter. He is not interested in giving you the Word of God; he is NOT trying to help you. He wants to get something from you!

Anyone with discernment can see that this current apostasy is spreading like wildfire through a nearly spiritually asleep evangelical community (Rom.13:11; Eph.5:14). This demonic apostasy is rapidly being blown along by the wind of heretical lies concerning the true nature of man and the sovereignty of God, broadcast by Satan and his ministers.

2 Cor. 11:13-15 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. 14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. 15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works. (KJV)

SO many well known and well loved, supposedly "evangelical" preachers today are caught up in this raging inferno. It is sad indeed, that these fools within spiritual leadership continue to buy into the enemy’s attempt to create a FALSE unity in today's churches.

John 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. (KJV)
John 8:47 He that is of God heareth God's words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God. (KJV) . . .SO many today, preachers and their naive flocks are NOT hearing God's Words! Jesus says that is because they are NOT of God! Do NOT listen to the devil's heresies, listen to GOD!
