"Damnable Heresies"

TRUE Church Rapidly Being Eliminated!

2 Peter 2:1-3 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. 2 And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. 3 And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not. (KJV)

Today's TRUE church is rapidly being swept away into eternal doom, by damnable heresies from which the FAITH in God once had delivered.

I write because God has placed upon my heart, such a burden for the lost. I am here to tell you that those professing to be "Christians" are warned of destructive and blasphemous doctrines being brought into the church.

It is very for us to study these verses more closely because they reveal that traitors will come from WITHIN the church; threatening, sabotaging and weakening many to follow their carnal ways. These traitors to the faith are NOT led by the Holy Spirit as were those God inspired to write the prophecies (2 Pet.1:21). Peter warns that these "false teachers" will come from WITHIN the church, or as Peter says: "among you." So, what is Peter trying to do here? I think he is saying: "forewarned is forearmed"! SO, be on guard! BEWARE!!!

"Destructive" or "pernicious" could be translated "lascivious." Lascivious means "to excite to lust or lewdness." These satanic heresies will SEEM to provide something people consider desirable for their well-being. 2 Peter 2:19 While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage. (KJV) . . . BUT, all the while the so-called "liberties" they promise in their false teachings will be so destructive, sop condemning, that the only thing they really do is to deny Jesus Christ!

In verse 3, it says that false teachers are driven by covetousness . . . THAT is greed! . They desire, they LUST to get something for themselves: power over people, maybe the desire that the people think they are a scholar, . . . BUT most of all fame and fortune at the cost of using the Name of Jesus! Considering all this, they prove they are NOT led by the Holy Spirit.

WHY should false teachings be so deserving of condemnation? Because false teaching distorts and misrepresents the direction and outcome of people's lives! Once having accepted it, unless they reject or repent of it,they are condemned, doomed to the pits of Hell.

WHAT about TRUE doctrines? Possessing true doctrines and beliefs is of tremendous importance, because what a person believes determines his attitude and conduct. Right thoughts come before right actions. Our beliefs express themselves in social relations, daily work and home life. What you believe DOES matter!
