"Damnable Heresies"

Heresy and Apostasy

2 Peter 2:1-3 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. (KJV)

Some think that, when someone accepts heresy, he will "leave the church." That may occur some times, but this confuses heresy with apostasy.

2 Thes. 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; (KJV)

Apostasy means "to depart from truth." A person can remain in a church and still be depart from the Truth of God's Word. We must remember how very important this is in this time in which we live.

2 Thes. 2:8-12 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: 9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. (KJV)

The coming of "that Wicked" (Antichrist) is according to the working of Satan, and for this reason God will send people a strong delusion, that they should believe Satan's lie . . . and when they do, they shall be condemned by God because they did NOT believe the Truth took great pleasure in unrighteousness . . . SIN!

IF we ever want to reach Heaven's shore some day, we must love the Truth sincerely, from deep down in our heart, love it so intensely that it motivates us to pursue it continually and diligently . . . and so sincerely that we make it a basic part of our life each day that we cannot do without. My friend, this will prove to be the vast difference between being saved and perishing in Hell!

1 Thessalonians 5:16-22 Rejoice evermore. 17 Pray without ceasing. 18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. 19 Quench not the Spirit. 20 Despise not prophesyings. 21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. 22 Abstain from all appearance of evil. (KJV)

Each one of us MUST have enough concern about the spiritual teaching we receive to search the Scriptures prayerfully and diligently to verify what we hear and read is TRUE! (Acts 17:11). We must prove all things if we want God's Face to shine upon us.

2 Corinthians 11:3-4 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. 4 For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him. (KJV)

Simplicity means clear, straightforward, without ulterior motive, pure, sincere. It means a single-hearted loyalty to Christ! It is the opposite of deceit, guile, error and wandering. Satan's key is getting a person to doubt. When doubt moves in, confidence moves out and is replaced it with uncertainty. Even the smallest doubt stifles faith and brings on fear. By sinning, Adam and Eve immediately showed their lack of faith in God.

2 Peter 3:16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction. (KJV)

Some things in God's Word are hard to understand . . . but NO where in the Bible does it try to produce doubt, confusion or division (1 Tim.6:3-5; 2 Tim.2:14). Even Balaam knew that "God is not a man, that He should lie" (Num.23:19)! Jesus tells us that God's Word is Truth (John 17:17). The doctrines of God follow a logical and true path, locking together like pieces to a puzzle which encompass the TRUE Gospel.

2 Peter 3:16, above, says "some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction." "Unlearned" . . . in WHAT? The Bible, my friend!

2 Timothy 2:14-16 Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers. 15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 16 But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness. (KJV)

Do NOT be Biblically ignorant! Do NOT be unlearned in the Bible! To do so could risk your eternal soul! BEWARE!!! Not knowing what God says, can lead to apostasy! Apostasy is the turning away from God, the only One Who can save you from an eternal, agonizing Hell, that Lake of Fire (Rev.20:15). I am not trying to be mean, or hateful, or morbid! I am simply telling you to be VERY careful! I care about you, even if you do not believe it. And my friend, God loves you. Beware of damnable heresies brought to you by smooth talking "wolves on sheep's clothing" (Mat.15). Heresies lead to apostasy and apostasy leads to HELL!
